Most recently, PSC teamed with the LFA Group to conduct an evaluation for the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department’s No Violence Alliance (NoVA) Project. Because this individualized case management-focused approach to community reentry and violence prevention is a unique model, the evaluation research answered key questions about the effects of the NoVA Project on participant outcomes and community safety (outcomes evaluation), and assessed the functioning of the partnership among case managers, service providers, and the Sheriff’s Department (process evaluation). The evaluation results informed and assisted in the process of program and fund development thereby allowing continuation and expansion of Community Re-entry and Violence Prevention Programs.
